Our Crazy Week

This week has been insane. Froggy's daddy and I have so much going on with our families... but that's grown-up stuff and that's not what this blog is about, really. So onwards about Froggy.

Monday was Halloween! We've been really excited ever since Froggy announced she wanted to be a butterfly and we found a costume at a discount. She made the cutest butterfly.

You ready for this? Are you sure? I'm warning you, she's a cutie! Alright, if you're sure...

She just loved her costume. We went around to a local grocery store chain to trick-or-treat since my neighborhood isn't the best for it and we thought she'd see fewer scary costumes if we stuck to the stores. She had a great time, I think.

Tuesday we had a little trouble getting her out of bed but only because she refused to sleep Monday night. By the time we got her to the bus, though, she was in a pleasant enough mood and she was ready to face the day. Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon and we get this note in her Agenda...

"7:45AM, boy pushed her down.
8:15AM, She punched him in the nose when he tried again. She took care of it and he didn't hit again today. Maybe he will remember."

In an email her teacher assured me that Froggy did not instigate the incident and the boy had it coming. Now, I'm not really one to encourage fighting but I'm not going to let my kid get the crud beat out of her either. I absolutely won't have her be a bully or the victim of a bully. I admit I was a little proud of her for standing up to herself after giving him one free shot.

Wednesday and Thursday afternoons she was insufferable. She'd get home and scream for like three hours. We have no idea what her problem is unless she's just tired. We're trying to do things with her that she'd enjoy but she's just simply being disagreeable. Tomorrow I'll be handling her on my own until her daddy gets home or MeMe comes to get her, whichever happens first. I'm dreading it, to be honest, but it wouldn't be the first time I was alone with her and she was cranky. We'll make this work.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's Halloween pictures! Leave comments with links and I'll come visiting!

  1. I've been meaning to read this story for a while. I LOVE IT! Though it's hard to picture the cute little butterfly punching anyone! But good for her, "she took care of it." I'm thinking no one else is going to mess with her. :)
